welcome

 My main interests include Astronomy/ Weather/ Walking/ Countryside/ Wildlife/ Photography/

My main interest is anything to do with the weather , stormchasing, reading weather charts and trying to forecast the weather, at the moment im trying to see if there is any weather pattern around each phase of the moon, and then try and do a weather forecast by using the moon phase.

 Personally i do believe that the moon does have influence on our weather, If you think of this logically by looking at the way the moon has influence on our Tides, by its gravitational pull, then surely it can affect our weather, {this will have to be looked into] which i am currently doing, by gathering as much data as possible around the current moon phases, ie wind speed/ wind direction/ temperature/ pressure etc

Next month {January}

moon phases as follows

December 31st= last quarter

January 8th= New moon

January 15th= First quarter

January 22nd= Full moon

January 30th= Last quarter

Now with data i have gathered over the last few months i have found that there tends to be a cold period between the New Moon and First quarter. Around the Last quarter phase it tends to be wet and windy, but mild, same goes for the phase between full moon and last quarter mild but wet,

 Current conditons here in the North East at 0600hrs xmas eve morning

Temp= 7.4c

Pressure= 1012.5hpa

wind direction= SW

1.5mph

very mild this morning , compared to the last 14 days , where we have had very low temperatures, during this period. My average mean temp so far this month as of 23rd december is sitting on 3.65c which is currently -1.65c below the 1971- 2000 average which should be 5.3c for December
